SINGLE TOOTH IMPLANTS

These are the most difficult implant cases with which to achieve an aesthetic result especially when replacing upper central incisor teeth.

When you know that a tooth is beyond restoration through structural loss, fracture or periodontal disease and has to be extracted an evaluation and assessment should be made as to whether immediate replacement with a dental implant is feasible. The main advantage of immediate placement is that the bone of the socket will be preserved and there will be one rather than two surgeries. When the tooth being replaced is one at the front of the mouth, superior aesthetics can often be achieved by using a zirconium abutment and a ceramic crown. Each case must be considered on its own merits.
