The American Board of Prosthodontics set down a series of clinical, oral and written examinations spanning several years. Just a small percentage of prosthodontists take these rigorous examinations hence only a dozen become certified each year. Those who pass become Diplomates of the American Board of Prosthodontics. There are only four American Board Certified Prosthodontists practising in the UK.
