PROFESSIONAL FEES

"Aesthetic dentistry takes additional time and requires acute attention to detail. It can only be "perceived and achieved" through an artistic eye".

"Be aware that a free consultation is usually an invitation to sit through a sales presentation". A complimentary consultation usually comes at a price.

OUR PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

We cater to the most discerning of patients who are seeking out the ultimate level of aesthetic restorative dentistry available anywhere in the world today. Our task is to provide the highest level of care and attention necessary to achieve such a high goal. To do this Dr. Wright must be a perennial scholar, maintaining his education through private research and study as well as travelling regularly to America to attend seminars, conventions and the top two dental schools in California (America) - USC & UCLA..    Dr. Wright's dentistry is only as good as the weakest link in his team. To maintain these high standards, Dr. Wright must be a hard task master demanding an equally high performance from fellow medical and dental specialists to whom he refers. Of equal importance are the bioengineering and artistic skills of the dental technician and ceramist.

The majority of patients which are referred to Dr. Wright fall into two main categories: extremely complex cases and extremely demanding patients and sometimes both. At the initial consultation Dr. Wright will listen to his patient, make a cursory oral examination and decide whether he is able to provide his patient with his or her desired result. This consultation allows the patient to determine whether Dr. Wright is the dentist of choice. We always recommend that patients contemplating advanced dentistry seek out one or more second opinions. It is false economy not to. The majority of the cases that Dr. Wright sees are for re-treatment of failed or unsatisfactory dentistry.

FEE GUIDE

Dr. Wright assesses his fee for comprehensive treatment plans on a case by case rather than fee per item basis. A letter of informed consent is provided prior to treatment with a quotation for Dr. Wright's fees and an estimate of the laboratory fee. For simpler cases we use a fee per service guide. All fees quoted are exclusive of dental laboratory charges.  We only use the very best American and European dental ceramists.

Initial Consultation

The preliminary consultation usually lasts 45 minutes. This involves listening to the patient's case history and treatment objectives, review of any pre-existing radiographs, study casts and prosthesis, a cursory oral examination and providing professional advice. The fee is 100 pounds sterling.

Comprehensive Records, Case Analysis, Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

For a limited treatment case the fee is 200 pounds sterling. This involves approximately one and a half hours of patient's time and two and a half hours of doctor's time.    For a comprehensive case the fee is 400 pounds sterling. This involves approximately two and a half hours of patient's time and five hours of doctor's time. This phase is mentally the most challenging and calls upon all the academic training and experience of the prosthodontist. It is also the most challenging and most-frequently, inadequately performed.  A review appointment is then scheduled to discuss treatment options and costs prior to sending out the treatment letter. No treatment will begin until the patient has a clear understanding of the treatment plan and costs. This is an effective way of eliminating any possible misunderstandings.

DIAGNOSTIC PHASE

The most difficult phase is the diagnosis, treatment planning and coordination of the case. If this staged is less than thorough, the case will inevitably fail. Dr. Wright routinely conducts a comprehensive examination of the patient and analyses the records. This procedure will require approximately two hours of the patient's time and four hours of the doctor. A further appointment will be scheduled with the patient where Dr. Wright will review the case with the patient, options for treatment and an estimate of time and cost.

Research the market carefully for the right specialist. Re-treatment of a failed case is always a compromise when compared to getting it right first time around and always more expensive. Save yourself time, money, pain and anxiety and potential legal costs. Do it once, do it well do it right!

TREATMENT PHASE

Prior to embarking upon treatment Dr. Wright will provide his patient with a treatment letter of informed consent. This letter will include a quotation for his professional fee for the case, not an estimate . As in dentistry we are dealing with microoganisms, biological tissue and often extreme bio-mechanical forces in the mouth not everything goes exactly as planned. Dr. Wright feels that the patient should be relieved on the financial worry that accompany dental estimates.

PROFESSIONAL WARRANTY

A dentist cannot sincerely predict how long his dentistry will last beyond the number of years he has been in practice.

Once again, since we are dealing with human beings, biological tissue and ceramics we cannot guarantee the duration of a restoration or prosthesis in a patient's mouth. We can only offer predications based on 25 years of practice experience and epidemiological studies. We appreciate the investment that you are making in your treatment and the risk you are taking in selecting a particular dentist. Inevitably, a certain percentage of restorations will break for a variety of reasons, some biomechanical  others through carelessness or accident. Dr. Wright's personal experience has been that less than 2% of the restorations and prostheses that he has delivered have broken due to biomechanical reasons.
